Warren County Bridge Issues

Bridge F-1801Warren County has among the highest number of rural bridges in the state of Iowa. Many of them are essential to our citizens in a variety of ways: Grain and cattle transportation (farm-to-market), movement of farm implements, school bus operations, emergency vehicles and equipment, and many others.

Several of our bridges are embargoed or closed, causing detriment to the economic, safety, and business activities of Warren County residents. Replacing or repairing these essential bridges is enormously expensive, therefore the County will seek federal and state funding to assist in bridge construction projects.

To effectively present our case, I need your help. Please email Kevin Middleswart at kevinm@co.warren.ia.us and tell how compromised bridges in your locale affect you economically or otherwise. I will use your testimony as I go before our federal and state legislative leaders to seek financial assistance.

Thank you for giving your input toward the improvement of our county bridge system.

G. Kevin Middleswart, Chair
Warren County Board of Supervisors
